Oh nuts! I am sorry to hear that you aren't feeling better. I hope that you will soon. Something to think about - Jim is considering doing the full doathlon or one as part of a team. Would you consider being part of a team?

Are you thinking of doing the Des Moines Half? If so, I would really encourage you to. It is a great course for a first one -- largely flat except for the bridges. It was my first, and convinced me I was actually a runner.

Both Tom and I are here to help you with your training plan...are you in?
Tom - 7/31/2008 9:47 PM
Sarah, if I can add my advice, you absolutely can complete the 1/2 marathon! If you need any assistance mapping out a training plan, please let me know.

Yes you can!

I have no doubt you could do a 1/2 in 11 weeks. Think about it...that would be just adding a mile a week to a long run starting now. And if you ran with me, you could do it really slow - although I think I would find a faster runner for you if you wanted a pacer. In fact, I know the pacer who is leading the 2:10 group this year and you would really enjoy it.

Think about it....

I am hoping to! I haven't calibrated the family calendar - but mentally have it on my list. I didn't realize it had moved this year!

My friend Kirk is planning on it too!

Good reminder for me to get it scheduled and find someone to watch the kids!

Does this mean you are feeling better?

Sarah, I decided to take this off the "Where in Wisconsin?" thread, since it's getting to be off that topic. If you want to respond privately, my e-mail is bvccollins-at-hotmail-dot-com .

When I run in Pella, I usually just run the streets, but I have been out to the path at Red Rock. It's nice and clearly marked, but you sometimes have to dodge bikers. Is it underwater now? My mom says that the water isn't as high as it was in 1993, but that parts of the Red Rock area are closed.

Where did you go to college? Not Central, it sounds like.

We could run together some time when I'm in Pella, if I wouldn't go too slow for you. I run 9:30 to 10:00 per mile, which is on the slow side.

Sarah- Saw your request and wanted to connect with you. Wondering if there is a way I can help. Let me know...

God Bless!

How are you doing? Feeling better?
Amy - 5/30/2008 3:45 PM
I am so sorry to hear that Sarah! I hope you are feeling better. Have you monitored your heart rate - pushing too hard?
